In the 2016-2017year, I General Body Meeting has been conducted on 02-11-2016 at 11.15 a.m. in our college campus. The following points were discussed in that meeting.

Old Students Association is registered under the Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act 1975 (TN Act of 27 of 1975) and the registration was done on 16.4.2009. In Order to maintain OSA funds collected from old students, an account was opened in Indian Bank, Fort Main Branch, Salem during the year 2009-10.

A resolution was passed by the OSA committee that every year a subscription from all the outgoing students of all departments could be collected and deposited in the bank and used whenever necessity arises. This is procedurally followed till the end of each year and auditing also is undertaken for OSA account. Initially, necessary furniture was purchased for the establishment purpose. On 4.7.2013, a resolution was passed in the General Body meeting to appoint 4 sweepers, 1 scavenger for the purpose of cleaning the campus and their salaries were to be paid from OSA fund. Likewise, whenever non-teaching staff are immensely needed, according to the vacancies existing, they are appointed by OSA.

On 31.3.2015, lighting ceremony was conducted to bid farewell to the outgoing students- the correspondent of AVS College of Arts and Science, complimented the students with light; farewell song was played; and, the Principal gave her farewell address. It was a memorable and moving moment for the students.

Again on 8-3-2016 lighting ceremony was conducted for the outgoing students to provide them indelible impression about their three years stay in the college.

Twice in a year, OSA meetings are convened in the institution. The Alumnae express their gratefulness to the institution and they also feel the necessity of introducing more PG Courses and Research Courses. As a result, in the past 4 years, 5 UG, 5 PG Courses were newly introduced. In 2015-16, proposals for 3 PG, 4 M.Phil and Ph.D courses have been submitted to the Tamilnadu Government Higher Education department. Thus the institution always aims at fulfilling the desire of the students.
